Varnish
Learn exactly what Varnish is. Get to know much more about web accelerators and their goal.
Varnish is a web application accelerator, which has been gaining a lot of popularity in recent years, because it can increase the loading speed of any website, sometimes even by 100 percent, based on the content itself. This tool is sometimes called an HTTP reverse proxy too and is used to lower the overall load on the physical server and to improve the access speed for the website visitors. Whenever a visitor opens a page on a specific site, the browser request is processed by the web server and the requested content is returned as a reply. If Varnish is enabled, it caches the pages that the visitor opens and if any of them is opened for a second time, it is fetched by Varnish and not by the web server directly. The performance boost comes from the fact that the accelerator handles the web requests substantially faster than any web server, which leads to much faster browsing speeds for the site visitors. If any data is modified meanwhile, the cached webpages will also be updated the next time someone attempts to access them.
Varnish in Website Hosting
Varnish is offered as an optional upgrade with each of our Linux website hosting packages. You can add it to your web hosting account via the Hepsia hosting Control Panel, which is offered with all shared web hosting packages and you’ll get an exceptionally intuitive GUI, which will give you complete control over the content caching platform. Using one-click quick-access buttons, you can reboot or disable any of the instances, in other words – Varnish will no longer be enabled for a particular Internet site. You can also see an in-depth system log or delete the cache associated with any of the websites. When you add Varnish to your hosting package, you’ll be able to choose the maximum amount of system memory that will be at your disposal for data caching purposes and the number of the websites that will use Varnish. You can always add more memory in increments of 32 MB and, for top performance, you can set a dedicated IP for the sites that will use Varnish. This will enable you to get the most out of your sites and to have plenty of gratified site users.
